Please, Don’t leave them out in the cold.

Keep them Warm Today

The arrival of winter brings new challenges and threats for our sanctuary residents and last year's harsh and frigid winter is a vivid reminder of these challenges.

From frosty mornings, heavy snowfalls to subzero temperatures, our residents rely on us to provide them with the life-saving warmth, care and protection they need from the harsh elements.

The animals need your support so we can ensure they stay warm, safe, and comfortable during the chilly months ahead.

Help us diminish the threats of another cold and harsh winter and be a part of this crucial winterization effort.
Here's how you can help:

  • Stall and Coop Bedding: Straw and shavings provide warm, cozy and safe stalls and coops during the cold winter nights. $10 buys one bale of straw. We need on average 40 bales of straw per winter month.

  • Replacing Broken Coops: Many of our coops have seen better days and are in need of replacements. A well insulated coop from Eglu costs $400 and would house 1-2 of our solo chickens.

  • Insulating Blankets: Insulating blankets to wrap around our coops and portable shelters will retain the heat within and protect our animals from the biting cold. $50 will buy an insulated tarp or blanket.

  • Replacing Broken Heaters: Old and inefficient or broken heaters need replacing to ensure a consistent and reliable source of warmth. Your contribution will go towards modern, energy-efficient heaters that are safer and more effective. $50 will replace a broken coop heater.

  • Adding Insulation and covered feeders: Insulating existing coops and enclosures can create a cozy and energy-efficient environment for our animals, reducing our heating costs and keeping them warm and protected. Covered feeders will allow for dry hay, less hay wastage and spoilage.

Your donation today will not only help us winterize the sanctuary, but more importantly ensure the well-being, safety, warmth and comfort of our cherished animals.
